Provider terms

Version 2026-09-28. These terms apply to companies that receive service requests (“leads”) through FirstBearing, alongside our general terms of service.

1. What a lead is

A lead is a request from a business for a service you offer, in an area you told us you cover. We show you the job details, city and price before you accept. We don't guarantee that any lead turns into a job.

2. Price and payment

  • You pay the lead price shown on the offer, only for leads you accept. There's no monthly fee or contract unless you separately agree to one.
  • Accepting authorizes us to charge the card you saved with our payment processor, Stripe, for that price.
  • Customer contact details are released only after the charge succeeds. If the charge fails, the lead stays locked and may be offered to another company.
  • Prices can change for future offers; the price shown on an offer is the price you pay for it.

3. Exclusive and shared leads

Leads are exclusive by default — once you accept, no other company can buy it. If we offer shared leads, the offer will say so and how many companies can take it (never more than three).

4. Credits

If a lead is bad, request a credit within 14 days under our lead credit policy.

5. Your responsibilities

  • You are an independent business, not FirstBearing's employee or agent. You set your own prices and terms with the customer and are responsible for the work.
  • You hold the licenses, certifications and insurance your work and location require, and you keep the information you give us accurate.
  • You use a customer's details only to respond to their request, follow applicable calling, texting and email rules, and don't sell or share them.
  • You respond to customers you accept in a reasonable time.

6. Verification and trust labels

We may ask for evidence of your business, insurance or licenses. We only display a trust label where we've checked evidence. We may pause or remove accounts that give false information, misuse customer details, or generate repeated valid complaints.

7. Cancelling

You can pause or stop receiving leads at any time in your dashboard. Charges for leads you already accepted remain due.

8. Liability

FirstBearing provides introductions, not the underlying service, and isn't responsible for the work you perform or the customer's payment to you. To the extent the law allows, our liability to you is limited to the lead fees you paid in the three months before a claim.

Questions: reply to any FirstBearing email.
